Associate Door Opening Consultant Certification Exam
Testing is available on Friday, October 3. This exam allows 4-hours for completion.
Automated certification exams are delivered via DOITs Learning Management System, examinees must achieve a minimum 80% on the exam to become certified.

An Associate Door Opening Consultant (ADOC) is certified to consult on projects of moderate complexity.
Their qualifications include:
1. Accurate Detailing and Estimation: Capable of accurately detailing and estimating costs for moderately complex projects, such as office buildings, medical clinics, or schools.
2. Basic Project Management Proficiency: Able to set up project management plans outlining tasks, duration, and deadlines to align with the General Contractor's schedule, ensuring smooth project execution.
3. Fundamental Code and Application Understanding: Demonstrates a foundational understanding of fire safety, life safety, accessibility, and building codes pertaining to door openings, enabling identification and resolution of basic code errors and application issues.
4. Effective Meeting Facilitation and Documentation: Competent in conducting keying meetings and documenting outcomes accurately, ensuring clear communication and alignment amongst stakeholders regarding keying requirements.
5. Basic Construction Contracting Knowledge: Possesses knowledge of basic construction contracting principles, including contracting methods, schedules, sequencing, change order processes, and dispute resolution, facilitating collaboration within project teams and adherence to
project timelines and budgets.
