Detailing Basics
(2-day program) In this course, students will learn the basics of one of the most important industry processes, detailing. Learn to focus in on the details and how to provide the material right the first time. Return to the office with a skill that can be applied right away.
After participating in this session, attendees should be able to:
- Recognize and utilize the tools and materials needed to detail a commercial construction project.
- Identify and interpret specification requirements in order to properly detail doors, frames and hardware.
- Illustrate doors, frames and components to create shop drawings for approval.
- Develop a hardware schedule from architect’s hardware sets and specification.
Automated end of class exams are delivered via DOITs Learning Management System at the end of the course, students must achieve a minimum 80% on the exam to pass the course.

Course cost includes breakfast, lunch and morning/afternoon snack each day of class.
